had the pleasure to attend a workshop presented by Pete Wright. Pete has taken inspiration from the great works of the past with Hollywood style glamour, images created by the like of George Hurrell and others. Images that were created by the movie studios advertising their respective stars in the 20’s 30’s and 40’s. Mr. Wright has fused this style with a dash of film noir (think of movies like “The Maltese Falcon”, “Casablanca”, which are two of my personal favorites, and infused it with inspiration from the hit tv series from HBO “Boardwalk Empire”, to create his own style of photography. The workshop I attended with him was a quick one-day affair, and I learned several techniques. I have always had a “love affair” with that type of photography and am looking forward to creating my own flavor. Here are some of the images I made that day, with a local model from the Columbia, South Carolina area.
